ARTIST’S NOTES: “GIVE ME A HAND is a charity organization with the aim of creating and delivering prosthetics to children in disadvantaged countries who have undergone amputations due to landmines or animal attacks. Some time ago, I met William, the head of their orthopedic project, who would soon depart for Vietnam to assist a girl who had been amputated due to a snake bite. He explained to me that the costs of prosthetics are often unaffordable, and thus they devised a much more economical robotic prosthesis. This artwork is inspired by one of the girls supported by this organization.
