ARTIST’S NOTES:  In this work I wanted to pay homage to Goethe in reference to his interest in art and colours, on which he wrote an essay which he even considered one of the things he was most proud of: for this reason, for this work I used 45 different cans.
The title instead provocatively recalls one of his aphorisms: “You never look at a rainbow that lasts a quarter of an hour”. Goethe then talks about the effect of habit and time on beauty. Instead, I wanted to give another point of view: it is not beauty that passes away, or is ephemeral, the cause is in our propensity towards it, in our subjectivity. With this work, therefore, I launch an invitation to always, and everywhere, seek true beauty. And where we manage to find it, we will continue to watch it well beyond a quarter of an hour.
